I have to knit one of these! I wonder if any of the yarn that I ordered last week from KnitPicks.com will work? Hmmm?
Have almost finished my baby blanket. It's hard to get motivation to do it because I don't like it. The pattern was weird, the pictured example you couldn't see very well, and the recommended yarn is crap. It's a LionBrand pattern.
Thought I would resurrect this blog for my knitting projects now that I am actively knitting again and I finally have a camera to replace the one that was broken before Christmas.
Look for updates soon!
I've got a couple of finished knitted things I have yet to take pictures of--namely Abbie's hat and a couple of dishcloths. I did an additional DW cloth and a diamond pattern. I also finished Abbie's Piece of Cake hat.
I'm working on my mother-in-law's Christmas present now. I decided to go with KnitPicks.com's Candle Flame Shawl in the color shown. My mother-in-law is really into turquoise. I've only just started it, but now that I've picked up the rhythm of it, I'm starting to pick up some speed. Of course, it did take me starting over about four times to get to where I am now. I can't wait to get it finished, though. I'm in love with it.
Just on a partial hiatus from the computer. I've been using it for e-mail and knitting patterns only. Seriously, it's made my days so much less stressful. That, and I've completely become addicted to One Tree Hill. A friend lent me the first two seaons on DVD and I watched both of them, in less than a week. Yeah. Now, I just need to find season three and get caught up for when we move and I have the CW and can watch it again.
What was the first movie you remember seeing in a movie theater?
Question submitted by mainmor.
Where the heck have I been? I'm slacking.
The first movie I remember seeing in the theater is Snow White. No, I'm not that old. The movie theater in the town where I grew up used to show animated classics during the summer. My mom took me, but I don't recall sitting with her. I remember sitting with some friends of mine in the very front of the old Rialto.
If you could be on any reality TV show, which one would you pick and why?
Big Brother. It's like Survivor only with more luxuries and less insects. I like the thought of winning money for being on a reality show. I'm competitive and this would be fun to do.
What's your cell phone's ringtone? What made you pick it?
Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. I chose it because I love Cyndi! The only ringtone I have that is individualized is my parents. It's the theme from The Exorcist, and it's not for the reason you are thinking. My dad has a small collection of records. As a child, I used to play them on dad's record player because it was such a
novelty. One of the records my dad owns is Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. As very few people know, the theme from The Exorcist came from this album. I had never seen The Exorcist. when I signed up for a class in college called Movie Music. One evening, our professor was playing the soundtrack from The Exorcist I walked into class first and mentioned it was Tubular Bells, having no idea what it was otherwise. A friend walked into class after me and remarked that the music was creepy and mentioned the movie. It just struck me as weird because I had such fond memories of that song.If you could get someone in your life to start a blog, who would it be and why?
My husband. I put so much of my life into a blog, or online journal, and I wish he could or would read it. I often times put it down in electronic format, but neglect to tell him. If he would just start blogging, I think he would see just a little bit more of me than he is able to right now.
After a few stumbles, I finished the cloth I have been working on in the wee hours for the past couple of nights. It's a pattern from Knitting Knonsense called the DW Darrell Waltrip cloth.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I'm more pleased that I was able to go back and correct mistakes without completely getting frustrated and without having to rip it all out and start again. I'm also really happy that I can bind-off now without as much of a problem. I even caught myself sitting in the rocking chair a time or two rocking and knitting. How old lady is that?
I also managed to get pictures of my unfinished Star cloth. I ran out of yarn before I could finish. I really like how it turned out, as well. As soon as I took my pictures, I went in and ripped it all out. I'm glad I did it like that, because otherwise I wouldn't have had the heart to do it. It would have been sitting around the house forever unfinished.
Now for something completely different: vox takes some getting used to. I swear I have been at this tiny little entry for 20 minutes or more trying to get the layout right. I'm sure I don't have it as perfect as I would like it. And the part that frustrates me the most is not being able to preview my post before saving it. I'm about ready to tear my hair out.
